Paris: Edward W. Titus, at the Sign of the Black Manikin, 1932. First edition. 146 pp. Deep blue buckram, spine and front board lettered in gilt, with the dust jacket. The jacket shows some edgewear with some very minor chipping, lower corners very slightly bumped, but overall a very clean and fresh copy, unopened. Nin's first book. 550 copies were printed; this is marked "complimentary copy" in holograph. The book was the last title Titus issued under his imprint; Nin wrote it in only sixteen days.

New York: NO, 1977. First edition. [28] pp. Stapled wrappers. Second issue (of four) of the infamous punk zine; this issue is credited with giving the no wave movement its name. Fine copy, scarce thus.

[Chicago]: Ken Nordine, 1956. Single sheet, printed on recto and verso and folded four times to create sixteen panels. Light wear, else fine. Ken Nordine is best known for his "word jazz" recordings, first issued on Dot Records in 1957. A prolific voice-over artist whose career spanned decades, one critic noted that "Ken Nordine can pontificate on any small object and make it resonate with the profundity of consciousness and the euphony of a beautiful piece of music." This rare publication precedes the recordings; the printed background of the cover repeats the phrase "word jazz" throughout. Nordine writes in the contents (in which "the intent of the contents is to make myself naked with my clothes on") that he is "on words," whereas "Dick Tyler is on xylotypography." First edition of Norman's scarce first book, preceding The Wishing Bone Cycle, which the author's note states is to be published in the spring of 1976. Norman went on to great acclaim for his further translations from the Algonquin, Cree, Eskimo, and Inuit languages, along with his award-winning novel The Bird Artist (1994). 42 pp. A very good minus copy in original yellow wrappers, as issued, with some rubbing and surface wear to the covers. Upper corner a bit bumped. Interior clean. Blurb by Gary Snyder on rear cover.
