She was active in the anti-apartheid movement, joining the African National Congress during the days when the organization was banned, and gave Nelson Mandela advice on his famous 1964 defence speech at the trial which led to his conviction for life. This book is from the personal collection of Dr Dennis Krikler 1928-2016 who was one of the UKs most eminent cardiologists. This book bears his signature on the inside front cover and dated July 7, 1950. The contents and edges are in Fine conditions. There is a 1cm split to top of spine and a hardly noticeable lightening of colour on 2 spots on the front board.

Not a clue why he has signed it, unless it was bought from the store. Except for a small stain to bottom page edges and sl. softening to spine extrmities this is a lovely bright book.
