These books were issued by the Armed Service Editions, Council On Books in Wartime (1942-1946). In 1942, the Council created a War Book Panel to choose titles officially recommended by the Council. These small booklets were sized to fit the pocket of a person serving in the wartime efforts and were specifically for the exclusive distribution to members of the American Armed Forces. Vol. 689, 6.5 x 4.5 479 pages.
