Nashville, Tennessee: Holman Bible Publishers, 1967. Hardbound . BINDING/CONDITION: blue cloth with gilt spine text; a Very Good book, with a Very Good dust jacket. The publisher's blurb reads: ''George M Lamsa is a native Assyrian. He was born and reared in that part of the ancient biblical world from which Abraham migrated to Palestine. His people, because they were isolated for many centuries, preserved the Aramaic language and the ancient biblical customs. He began his study of the Scriptures in Aramaic under the teachers of his tribe. His formal education began in the Middle East and has continued in the Untied States at the Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria. Since Aramaic was the language of Jesus and His disciples, and because of the author's knowledge of this ancient language and Semitic customs, many people have expressed the need for the author to prepare a commentary on the obscure and more important passages in the Gospel narrative. This is published in response to that need. It treats o ... Read more

From the author's foreword: ''The boldness of James Earle Fraser's designs and the uniquely American quality of the subjects portrayed have made the Buffalo Nickel the most familiar obsolete United States coin to both numismatists and the general public. Although Buffalo Nickels have not been minted for more than 50 years, they still play a role in American culture used in the fashioning of Native American and Western style jewelry.
