Originally published in 1938. This is a rather rare book which I have priced under the three others I found.

You might say this book has been ridden hard and put away wet. Its flaws are many, including a cocked spine, a number of stains, and yellowed pages. There is a skinned area on the back cover, and an ink stain on the top page ends at the spine, as visible in photo #3. Photo #4 shows that the ink did not reach the text. I would have put this book out for clearance, but my search did not turn up any other copies being offered, making it rather rare. So, if you need this book to complete your collection, here it is, at a rather reasonable price.

Although this is prose, Lampman was the Poet Laureate of Oregon for the last 3 years of his life. This collection was published posthumously, as Lampman passed away in 1954. Edited by V. S. Hidy. This is a somewhat rare book.

This is a new translation (or was so in 1950) that hews closer to Andersen's intent than many previous adaptative translations. No publication date is given in the book, but the Introduction is dated 1950. I suspect this is a more recent 1970 printing. After the Introduction, there is a brief biography of the author, followed by 18 of his stories, including The Princess and the Pea, Thumbelina, The Little Mermaid, The Emperor's New Clothes, Willie Winkle, The Ugly Duckling, Simple Simon, and 11 more. A fairly scarce book.
