The top edge is trimmed, and has the publisher's yellow stain. Other edges untrimmed. In a plain stiff card slipcase. The book is in very good condition. There is a small light stain on the top edge of the text block. The slipcase is in very good condition as well, with a couple of minor stains, very subtle age-toning, and lightly bumped edges. This edition of Our Own Green Confusion designed by Martino Mardersteig is limited to 300 copies printed from Bembo type on Magnani rag paper by Stamperia Valdonega.

In a very good dust jacket, with light rubbing and scratching to the surface. Essays by Henry Adams, Kathleen A. Foster, Henry A. La Farge, H. Barbara Weinberg, Linnea H. Wren, and James L. Yarnall. John La Farge was not only a painter of still lifes and landscapes in watercolor and oil, but he created extraordinary decorative schemes and revolutionary stained glass art for some of the country's most impressive churches and mansions as well.

The wraps are partially detached. The wraps are also lightly soiled, chipped and creased. The pages are yellowed. There are small losses from the paper at the ends of the spine. Oliver La Farge is most famous for his 1930 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel Laughing Boy.

Very Good. 302pp. Octavo [19.5 cm] Thickly woven yellow cloth covered boards with brown ink stamped titles on the spine and front cover. Publisher's brown top stain. The boards are lightly soiled, and the spine is darkened (Title still bold). There is a brief contemporary inscription at the head of the front free endpaper. A strip of paper with the author's bio has been mounted to the rear free endpaper. No dust jacket. A novel of the Southwest in the early twentieth century. This book won a Pulitzer Prize in 1930.

With raised bands and blind stamped title on spine, along with faded gilt stamped floral decoration. Lovely marbled textblock edges and endsheets. Mild scuffing to spine ends and edges of boards. Textblock is mildly foxed throughout. Half-title has a 2cm closed tear. Front hinge beginning to crack. A lovely French-language edition of La Fontaine's "Fables," with illustrations by Staal.

Additionally, the front board is decorated with a large blind stamped illustration of a lyre. Very light soiling to boards. Textblock is toned. Sporadic closed tears throughout have been unprofessionally backed with tape. Gutter also occasionally reinforced with tape. Heavily illustrated with elaborate wood engravings by Gustave Doré.

Illustrated by Carroll C. Snell.
