Rodolfo Halffter was a Spanish composer who taught at the National Conservatory and was director of Ediciones Mexicanas de Música. Lavista studied with Halffter and Carlos Chavez at the National Conservatory.

All laid in a folded stiff leaf. "La noche juega con los ruidos copiandolos en su espejos de sonidas." ["The night plays with noises, copying them in its mirrors of sounds." Reflejos de la noche was the first of several quartets Lavista wrote for the Cuarteto Latinoamericano (Saul Bitrán, Arón Bitrán, Javier Montiel, and Álvaro Bitrán), with which he had a close collaboration.

Poor. Folio. Wraps for Lamento para flauto baja and Nocturno para flauto en sol, but contains two copies of Nocturno, thus poor, else very good. Each copy is one large leaf folded with the piece and instructions. 3 leaves. Nocturno is a lyric piece using alternate fingerings and multiphonics. Flute and clarinet catalog from the publisher included featuring compositions by Lavista, Rodolfo Halffter, Gutierrez Heras, Jimenez Mabarak, Blas Galindo, Luis Sandi, Mario Kuri-Aldana, Jesus Bal Y Gay, and Leonardo Valazquez.

Score 9 pp. and part 5 pp. Piano part in stapled yellow wraps with the violin part laid in. This is the first edition., published 1977. Composed in 1974, this is one of an edition 300 copies. Lavista studied with Carlos Chavez in Mexico and at the Schola Cantorum in Paris. He is probably best-known for his opera Aura, based on a short story by Carlos Fuentes.
