A five-page polemical introduction by Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler, lambasting those who deny the "deep unity" of Gris's work and his role in the origin of cubism, is followed by b&w images on plates, of 18 of the 48 works in the exhibition. 6-1/4" square textured matte wraps, age-toned especially along fold, staples rusted. Distributed by New American Library - "New concise NAL edition". On the life and work of Anna Mary Robertson Moses, with 193 illustrations (art reproductions and photos), of which 127 are in color. Imperial 8vo (8-3/4" x 11"), printed on semi-glossy stock, blue material over boards with gilt lettering on spine, slight wear to heel, dust soil along margins of boards, red remainder mark to bottom edge, faint foxing to fore-edge and along top of end papers. DJ is price-clipped, worn especially at crown and heel, age-toned along top inside and out, with 1" triangular tear near bottom corner of back panel mended with tape from inside. Pages unmarked.
