Akron: Saafield Publishing Company, 1938. Very Good. An unnumbered 12 page illustrated story book (including covers). The book was published by Saafiled, and has #2207 printed on the cover. The book uses several caricatures of airplanes to illustrate aviation topics such as "Ground School," "Take Off," "Nasty Storm," "Parachute," "Forced Landing," "Formation Flying," and "Refueling." There is also an introduction by Amelia Earhart, and this edition was approved by United Airlines. There is an inscription on the top right of the front cover, otherwise, the book is in great condition with minimal edge wear and general toning throughout. Signed by Elvy Kalep. Racine , WI: Whitman Publishing Co, 1943. Text block separated from covers. Interior pages toned due to age. The doll dot on the back cover is partially punched out.. Two punch out dolls, Peg and Dot, with six (6) uncut color costume pages. Each outfit on the pages is label the correct corresponding doll. The outfits are designed around the appropriate attire for teens to wear at different times of the day. Each page has an illustration of a clock with the time on it to denote when the fashions on the page can be worn. The outfits include everything form bath robes in the morning, dresses for afternoon tea, school and dance class outfits, evening wear, before dinner playtime outfits and sleep wear. New Haven, 1936. General wear. Pages are brittle from age. Most pages are loose or detached from string binding.. Created by Chester Katzman, an eleven year old boy from New Haven, CT, this scrap book was a school assignment to record an imaginary European tour taken by the student. The book includes various short essays on what was seen, the history and agriculture of the countries and hand drawn maps and flags from his "journeys". At the front of the scrap book is his hand made passport that states Chester's occupation as 'student'. Chester started his "trip" in Italy. He drew an agricultural map of the country including cut-outs or actual bits of product such as wheat and corn. He leaves Italy for Ethiopia and includes magazine cut-outs and newspaper articles about the Ethiopian unrest and war . The first in the Nancy Drew Mystery Stories, The Secret of the Old Clock introduces Nancy as an eighteen year old who wants to help the Turner Family who has just experienced a loss. She encounters many situations and tries to help those in need by discrediting the "nouveau-riche". 7 1/2" x 5" dust wrapper has tears and creases.

For all the children that are interested in cooking, or at least assisting their mom, this cookbook has the basics to know how to start. 32 pages. With an introduction with some basics about measuring, prepping and preparing recipes. The recipes themselves are fairly simple, things like cornbread, sugar gooks, tuna fish casserole, buttered carrots, gingerbread, icing. And if there is a need for a oven to bake the receipies in, then Westinghouse Electric Ranges are the top choice. Profusely illustrated - relating to each recipe and are appropriately cute to appeal to children, and maybe some adults too. Measures 10 3/4" x 8 1/4

New York, New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1941. Good. Spine chipped with extremities worn/damaged. Some of the "cages" are loose.. A very charming interactive children's book starring Mr. Luke, a harried zookeeper who needs help putting the animals back in their cages at the end of the night. Each of the eight die-cut animals, ranging from "Trunko" the elephant to "Humpo" the camel, are originally housed in an envelope in the back of the book; the child must take each one and put it in the proper "cage" throughout the book. Each cage has a moveable paper door and a plastic window through which the animal can be seen.

A charming interactive children's book emphasizing international friendship and cultural heritage. The story revolves around six children from European countries (England, France, Italy, Holland, Switzerland, and Norway) who are traveling across the Atlantic on an ocean liner. The young reader is asked to help the Captain and his crew return the children to each of their countries; to do this, the reader must take each of the six (6) die-cut paper dolls from an envelope on the fifth leaf, and put them in the slots of their prospective countries on the following leaves. An archive of original materials relating to customs seizures of alcohol, opium, and other illegal goods in New York City by customs guard John F. Kirschhoff between 1925 and 1954. Includes typewritten lists of harbor patrol raids, correspondence, subpoenas, newspaper clippings, and an original handwritten account of a 1930 liquor raid seizing 1,095 cases of liquor in the East River. At least one of the clippings depicts Kirschhoff in action. The archive appears to have been assembled by Kirschhoff himself, and includes letters to him praising the efforts of him and his colleagues from government officials. Also includes modern (1990s?) photographic reproductions of c.1920s photos of seizures/prohibition protests. A monograph on the state of radio communications in America by Eugene Konecky (1898-1978), an activist and writer who dedicated his career to toppling broadcast monopolies. With chapter titles such as "Swastika Stations" and "Democracy or Dollar Dials", the book aims to highlight the damage done by such monopolies, and calls for the general public to embrace the airwaves in a more democratic model of broadcasting. Includes vocabulary and a list of further reading, making the highly specialized language more palatable for the general public. Includes Vol. II - July 3, 1890 to Sept. 25, 1890 and Volume II - Oct. 2, 1890 to Feb. 26, 1891. A comprehensive overview of articles and commentary for the week on matters relating to sports and fashion in the UK. Each week had an applied image from a photograph of a notable for the week with a printed signature. Also includes photographer's names. One week was Mrs. Fit-George "amongst the leading elegantes of society,...", an article supplements the photo. A few others included Charles Noel - Lord Carnegie, Miss Florence McKenzie, the Viscountess Curzon, Mr. W.W. Read (cricket star). There are thirty-three (33) photographic images included. Photographers include Franz Baum, London Stereoptic Co., A. Denneulain and others. Heavy cover wear. Light toning on borders surrounding a few photographic images, with minimal distraction.

A three-layer volvelle made by the Merriam Paper Co. meant to help determine the equivalent weight, count or bulk between two different sizes of paper bundles.
