The first Uranian Press "Broadside Ballads Folio," inspired by the the blackletter broadside ballad of Elizabethan England, advertised in the 1960 Uranian Press Catalogue One, and sold by Uranian Press founder Richard O. Tyler in the Judson Church Yard in Greenswich Village. The poems are composed by Victor Lorenz Kaplan, a.k.a. Ralph Mucklefoot, type set by young apprentices Michael Martin and Conard Skalbo, and illustrated with woodcuts by Dorothea Baer, wife of Richard Tyler and co-founder of the Uranian Press and the later Uranian Phalanstery. "A Victory of World Historical Significance" A paper on the January plenary session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, by Sergei Kirov (1886-1934), who served in the Committee. Kirov was an early Bolshevik revolutionary, Soviet politician, and close associate and supporter of Stalin. His assassination in 1934 provided a pretext for growing political repression by Stalin, culminating in the Great Purge.

Antique-style quarter calf and marbled boards, gilt leather label, endpapers refreshed. Minor chips at outer corners of title leaf, professionally repaired. "Said to be the first book on distilling printed in the United States" - Amerine & Borg. The author, Michael August Krafft of Bristol, Pennsylvania, received a fourteen-year-term patent in 1801 for an improvement in stills, around which, he writes in the book's Advertisement, "Many unsuccessful attempts have been made to deprive him of the fruits of six years of sacrifice of property and labor" with "[s]light evasions of form, without a departure from the principle."
