Clean and tight in a moderately-to-heavily edgeworn and very lightly soiled dust jacket. Irregular 2" closed tear accompanied by creasing and smaller tears at lower front panel of jacket. Upper edge of front jacket panel creased and with a 1" closed tear. Small chip and 1" closed tear at upper rear panel.

Penobscot, Maine: Traversity Press, 1966 Cloth. The sister of Mitchell Kaufman recounts his short life. Born in 1895 on a cattle-boat outside New York harbor to Russian parents, Kaufman eventually graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and revived the bankrupt Coverse Rubber Company. He died a millionaire at the age of 37--an accidental and tragic death in the Maine woods. Very light edgwear to cover, including small chip to lower front spine gutter. Dust jacket lightly edgeworn and with a few light smudges; clear tape repair to upper spine of jacket.

Ex-library, but with only three oval inkstamps identifying library, one on front endpaper, two on inside of rear endpaper (a small portion ended up on rear dust jacket flap). Interior clean and tight. Dust jacket lightly worn at upper edge, moderately worn at lower, including two 1/4" closed tears lower front panel and a couple of minute tears to lower rear panel. Some brown staining to lower rear corner jacket flap.
