Nice book -- very clean and bright.

Union Springs: The Press of Robert Lomascolo, 2016. First edition. Hardcover. New. New copy, still sealed in publishers wrap. A delightful leaf book done in the old style. The text is a superb scholarly discussion of the how, because of the work of a small number of punchcutters, French Antiqua (roman) type came to be dominant in sixteenth and seventeenth century printing. Dimensions are 8.75 x 13.75 inches and consisting of 52 pages, with a bifolium (4 pages) from the 1591 edition.

Golden Cockerel / Chelsea Bindery, 1960. First Edition. Hardcover. Near fine. Handsomely rebound in a full red morocco by The Chelsea Bindery (signed in gilt): spine with five raised band, six box compartments in gold, both boards boxed in gold, board edges also lined, top edge original gilt, top board with an elaborate "The Sonnets of William Shakespeare" in gold. Inner boards with gold gauffering and marbled endpapers. This is No. 187 of of 470 copies printed in Caslon's Old Face on Barcham Green paper. The binding has a single pinhole-size worn spot on one corner and a couple of other minor scuffs and imperfections -- not quite fine but certainly lovely and impressive, joints completely flexible and without wear. Contents again not quite fine: gift inscription on the front blank provided by Chelsea Bindery, single page with a little wrinkle to the top edge, contents free of all foxing. A beautiful book.

Iowa City, IA: Stone Wall Press, 1960. First edition. Hardcover. Fine/near fine. First edtion. One of only 20 copies printed on Rives Heavy (a French mould made paper), bound in full black Oasis goatskin with blind-stamped initials ("WK") on the front cover, gilt lettering on the spine. Completely fine, in the publisher's paper slipcase (trivial shelfwear). There were 180 regular copies printed on Rivers Light and bound in paper boards. The printer, Kim Merker, later said of these: "Another mistake we made was the in the binding, using a very fragile japanese paper for the side. If you left it in the sun for three minutes the color would fade." (Merker 12). Printed and bound thus, this is a real American fine press highspot and a great edition of Weldon Kees' marvelous poetry.
