Mild age tone transfer to endpapers, edges lightly soiled. Jacket edges rubbed, short closed tear to head of spine, moderately age toned. Second novel from the Johannesburg-born son of Lithuanian Jews: mysterious happenings on a hike to Cape Town. Dust jacket design by abstract painter Stanley Dorfman, who went on to produce and direct Top of the Pops for the BBC and early music videos. Here his prowess is presented in a striking Constructivist concoction of red, black and gold. Dust jacket preserved in a removable clear archival sleeve.
