Rust colored cloth and tan paper over boards, gold spine lettering and decoration to front cover. An advance copy issued in a glassine slip cover (most likely because the dust jacket wasn't yet printed). Signed by Irving on the first free endpaper. This would have been distributed to people who mattered in the trade, special customers, sale reps, influencers of all sorts. Copies with the fragile glassine dust jacket intact are uncommon. Basis for the 1999 film for which Irving won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay (the film garnered seven Academy Award nominations. Book Condition is near fine with some rubbing to the gilt spine lettering, apparently unread. Glassine dust jacket is Very Good+ condition with wrinkling and very minor wear to extremities. An uncommon signed copy in fantastic condition.
