The program for the play The Silent Voice, with advertisements for Swift's Premium bacon, the Pathfinder, the two door touring car, Hotel La Salle, the Victrola, Asia cafe, a Chinese-American restaurant on Wabash Ave., the Mandarin Inn, another Chinese-American restaurant on Wabash, legal advice on ticket scalping, an advertisement for a musical, A.C. McClurg's stationary, ads for beer, and a color ad for Libby's canned pineapple. A colorful and vivid depiction of Chicago's theatre scene and several of its local companies as they were in the early twentieth century. A tiny chip to the rear wrapper.

Price of 2 Mark on the front wrapper. This issue is advertised as containing 40 richly illustrated folio pages. There are numerous illustrations of children sledding, scenes of the Thirty Years war, animals in the forest, orangutans dressed up as pirates, and other drawings and engravings inspired by a youthful imagination. A special issue done for young readers from this illustrated newspaper. With poems and short stories from several different authors, the illustrations from various artists. A sizeable tear to the spine, the newspaper is however holding. Wrappers with minor soiling.

Each plate has explanatory notes, taken from the Lovett publication. With an introduction by Lord Sydenham of Combe. The volume gives a history of British imperialism in India, and explains a few concepts of Northern and Southern Indian culture. Very Good with a small separation between the backstrip and the textblock and a small lean; jacket shows a few chips and minor soiling.

The article says that Jean Ingelow is ill and may not recover. It also gives a brief biography of her life. Name on the free front endpaper, minor rubbing to the cloth.

[5], 8-391, [1] [6] (pages of publisher's advertisements) pp. Blue publisher's cloth with purple and silver decorations and silver lettering on the front board and spine. Encyclopedia Britannica, "Olive Schreiner". This is Schreiner's semi-autobiographical novel, and was a nearly-instant success. It is a staunchly feminist novel and espouses views that go against traditional Christian and Victorian gender roles. The main character works on an ostrich farm, and all the while must fight to live the life that is right for her. Olive Schreiner would go on to campaign for societal reforms for women throughout the rest of her life, and she would go on to become an outspoken opponent of Cecil Rhodes. A small separation between the backstrip and the textblock, the first gathering is a bit shaken but the binding is secure.

Moore of Rochester, New York. Illustrated with thirteen plates, about half of which are in color. Also with a colorful engraved title-page. Portions of the ladies magazine are bound here from the year 1852. The list of illustrations call for 24 plates, thirteen are present in this bound volume, which does not contain all of the stories included in the index. The plates are bright and attractive. The magazine includes various short stories written by Helen Irving, Asahel Abott, Evelina Morris, Rule Ruby, etc. Several clergymen have also contributed to the stories in this volume. Rubbing to the boards' edges, free rear endpaper largely torn away, a few discreet pencil paginations written on the versos of the plates.

Garp, a writer with an unconventional upbringing who bears some resemblance to the author himself. Winner of the National Book Award and adapted into the 1982 film starring Robin Williams.
