Promotional booklet with order form for Ibsen's "Complete Works Memorial Edition", issued to the book trade in September 1906. The pages are mostly uncut, so likely never actually read. The volume contains selections from the set, which would be issued in five volumes in 1906 and 1907. The original order form is still atteched to the verso of the front wrap, and the publishers typed letter mentioning this set and two other upcoming works is folded and laid in. Front wrap detached with moderate edgewear and small chip from the lower front corner. The spine lacks 1" of paper at the head and heel. The rear wrap is intact and still attached. The contents show only faint marginal toning. An extremely rare copy of the salesman's dummy/order form for this title, enhanced by the publisher's letter. Issued in the year of Ibsen's death. University of Wisconsin professor Julius E. Olson's copy, with his signature to the third blank; also present on the front pastedown is the bookplate of Norwegian-American collector Herman Gimmestad, who attended UW-Madison in the 1940s. The leather shows mild rubbing at the corners, with just a touch of edgewear to the boards. Hinges solid; binding square. A clean, tight copy, with excellent associations.
