A unique—rare addition to the Heinlein collector who thinks he has "everything." A large heavy book in fair-good minus condition.

Features the cover story, RED BLADES OF BLACK CATHAY by Tevis Clyde Smith & Robert E. Howard. The main thrust of the tale was Clyde Smith's, but the writing was REH. Great battle scenes. Also tales by Frank B. Long, and E. Hoffmann Price. Neat Von Gelb cover. 3/4" chip at top of spine; one interior page with 1/4" closed tear at edge, else a near fine-fine copy. Scarce pulp, especially in condition.

New York: Hippocampus Press, 2009. First Edition. An epistolary correspondence from 1930 until May, 1936, between two of the major authors of Fantasy & SFRobert E. Howard and Howard Phillips Lovecraft. Nearly 1000 pages of their letters are reproduced in print within these two volumes. The letters are longer than many of their stories and is not idle chit-chat, but intellectual repartie of the highest order. It's as if they were both challenging each other. Edited by HPL authorities, S.T. Joshi and David E. Schultz, and Robert E. Howard expert, Rusty Burke. Only 300 sets of this hardbound first edition was published. As new, still in shrinkwrap.

[Glendale, CA.]: [Roy A. Squires], 1977. First Printing. Although not credited, this was the 33rd booklet printed by Roy A. Squires, by hand from handset types, handsewn with silk thread. Five poems in all, this would be the last Robert E. Howard printing Squires would do. 353 numbered copies, this is copy 197. Handsomely printed upon Strathmore Chroma paper, from Bembo types . The private press of Roy A. Squires introduced fine printing to the fantasy & SF field. Fine.

Squires was an old-school practioner of the art/craft of typesetting, every letter/spacing, set and printed by hand. Glenn Lord saved some of Howard's best, unpublished poetry to be printed by Squires. As new.
