Doheny, wife of the oil baron played by Daniel Day Lewis in "There Will Be Blood," amassed a valuable collection that was dispersed in auctions after she died in 1988. Doheny acquired the book from Frederick W. Skiff, another voracious collector, based in Portland, Ore. His bookplate, an elaborate sporting pictorial, is on the front pastedown (see below).
