Her bindings and artist’s books are in many public and private collections and her work is much sought after.|

Hand printed endpapers with leather joint to panel doublures. Housed in the original purple cloth clamshell box with gilt lettering on upper cover.||Camus' philosophical essay compares the absurdity of man's life with the Sisyphus, a figure of Greek mythology, who was condemned to repeat forever the same meaningless task of pushing a boulder up a mountain, only to see it roll down again. Wellingborough: Christopher Skelton, 1973. A version by Rene Hague after Iliad XXII. Four full page illustrations by Peter Campbell from originals in Indian ink. No.28 of 50 special copies printed on Pachuco Cadava Amalfi Rag Laid paper. Tall thin 8vo. 31 x 15.5 cms, bound by George Percival at Leicester in quater brown cloth with upper cover of binding covered in calligraphic paper printed in two colours from a brush lettered design by Rene Hague, a very good copy. ||The Death of Hector was a radio play written by Rene Hague, son in law and partner of Eric Gill. Hague was multi-talented and here his skill as a writer is apparent. As the producer of the play in 1958 wrote “the translation is terrific. Cold shivers run down my spine as I read”. Also his skill as a calligrapher is apparent on the eye-catching upper cover.Original invoice and Christmas card from John and Myrtle Skelton inserted loose.| One of 50 special copies

Maastricht: printed by A.A.M. Stols at the Halcyon Press, 1931. One of 100 copies on Dutch mouldmade paper by Pannekoek & Co, this unnumbered. In addition there were 10 copies on Japanese vellum. Designed by J. van Krimpen in Romanee type, title by van Krimpen printed in red. 25 x 18 cms. 8vo., original orange cloth with windmill design in gilt on upper cover, spine lettered in gilt, in the original glacine. Free endpapers very mildly browned, otherwise an extremely good, bright copy. |||

Edinburgh: published for the Benefit of the Sufferers and sold by A. Constable & Co, 1824. 8 etched and lithographed plates, after drawings by Sir James Hall. Oblong folio., [296 x 475 mm], unbound with the original wrappers with the engraved title, the remains of the green glazed paper spine, edges untrimmed. The plates and the engraved title are in very good condition. The piece also mentions prayers said for him at the Trappist Abbey of Gethsemani and a commemorative Mass said for him in Alsace.|

Specially bound by Hannah Brown in 2010 (with binder’s label on the lower pastedown) in full black morocco with an embroidered map of Estonia over the entire binding and guitar strings to resemble music staves are laced onto front and lower cover linked with a brass clasp, also over the whole binding are onlays of red, yellow and turquoise morocco circles which appear again on the endpapers as paper circles, music staves tooled in blind on the front pastedown, the second preliminary black leaves have circles cut in them through which a third yellow preliminary leaf glows, housed in a black and yellow felt lined black cloth box with drop lid, with a yellow paper printed label stitched around the edges and more red, turquoiise and yellow paper circles covering the lid. The Red Shoes was beautifully produced in Offenbach-am-Main, the combination of Harwerth’s charming hand-coloured engravings and Koch’s type face being particularly pleasing.
