Northampton, Massachusetts: Privately printed, 1936 Staple-bound textured blue card covers with bronze title. Sixteen pages plus title page and blank rear endpaper. Founded in 1862, The Club's membership was drawn from the among the most prominent professional men of the town, including Calvin Coolidge. Introductory of six pages followed by nine pages summarizing activities and membership of The Club for the previous ten years. Interesting topics include the introduction of a "Ladies' Night," and a reluctance to discuss the great financial disaster of 1929 "neither as the title of a paper nor as a topic." Very faint soil to covers except for unfortunate irregular moderate quarter-size spot stain to upper corner of front cover near fore edge. Otherwise clean, intact, and unworn.

Prior (church) owner inkstamp bottom of title page; prior owner name in pencil at upper front endpaper. Otherwise clean and tight.

Bangor, Maine: Self-published, 1895 Fair+/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Slim volume (127 pages) by Maine author. Details of crockery-making and about the founding in 1893 of the only society in England manufacturing crockery under the Industrial Acts of 1876. With Appendix. Upper front cover corner cloth worn and board underneath broken away; other corners lightly-to-moderately worn. Light staining to cover cloth, as well as quarter-size brown stain and drip mark, partially cleaned away. Same brown substance also spots outer page margins of pp. 16-36, with 1/2" diameter spot to two pages and diminishing at other pages. Otherwise clean and tight.

With the following library marks: bookplate inside front cover; tape scars to cover; scar where pocket removed from rear endpaper; small library inkstamp title page. Spine slightly cocked. Front endpaper bears small amount of residue of green-penciled remarks. Interior otherwise clean and tight. Dust jacket intact and bright, with 1/4" darkened area at top edge and spine stickers.

Moderate-to-heavy rubbing to cover extremities, with fraying to cloth at upper corners. Small, light, irregular fade patches, caused by margin of rear board. Vintage prior owner inscription on first blank endpaper. Clean and tight.

Dust jacked moderately edgeworn and rubbed, with few very small closed tears at upper edge. Clean and tight.

SIGNED and dated by the author on front endpaper. Very light rubbing to cover extremities with minor exception of corner at lower rear board, which is has rubbed through to board. Clean and tight.

This book introduces six extraordinary people who practice ancient arts in Japan, and shows how their traditional crafts or performing arts are supported. Illustrated with black-and-white frontispiece photograph of the "Royal Eagle" and numerous black-and-white text drawings and diagrams, including detailed rear fold-out of the "Royal Eagle." A couple of faint smudge marks to verso of frontispiece; lower edge of frontis starting to detach. Text pages somewhat age-browned. Clean and tight in a moderately-to-heavily edgeworn dust jacket. Dust jacket image is crisp and bright, but there are two irregular closed tears at upper edge near spine and 2"closed tear at lower front panel. Lower front flap price clip is uneven. Moderate soil to rear (white) panel of jacket.
