A short letter to Ruth Morton in regards to her letter to Gallico about his story "The Dowry". Gallico jokes that "at last somebody has reacted to The Dowry", and says that at the end of the year he will quit his newspaper job to go "abroad for a year to hide out and write fiction." Some light chipping to edges of spine labels, which reveals the title in silver on the spine of Volume I. Both volumes bear the bookplate of the architect William Mooser, Jr. Below the bookplate is the ownership stamp of the architect Edward Charles "Chuck" Bassett, who designed the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum and the Louise M.
