Mais ce nom n'apparaissant que dans un manuscrit du XVII/XVIIIe siecle, la question de l'authenticite doit etre discutee; elle est evidemment liee a la datation, quelque part entre le Ve et le Xe siecle. Le commentaire, dont l'edition a ete notablement amelioree grace a un manuscrit ancien trouve a Jerusalem et jamais utilise jusqu'ici, est remarquable: malgre l'apparente difficulte du texte biblique, il favorise toujours une exegese litterale, l'exegese anagogique ne venant qu'en second lieu, lorsque le sens premier n'est vraiment pas satisfaisant.
