So, as-is for what one might call a reading copy of the true first edition. All seem to be dated 1848 to 1852. An example, acompanied by a locket of hair: the above is a locket of my little sisters hair, who died in 1836, aged 6 1/2 years. "She's gone where sorrows maynot come, Where pain may never be; But she, who lives an angel still, May sometimes think of me. " Apr. 18, 1852. There is also a nicely braided bit of hair from her cousin Ellen. Perhaps not a lot of intrinsic value, but a touching piece of history. The binding is a decorated black cloth. ; 6x7 1/2" .
