London: W. Faden, 1808. VG, with a few inconspicuous taped verso repairs. One small area of thinning to right of midsection, but image is intact, without significan browning or spotting, on heavy paper. Faden, now Royal Geographer, had taken over the business of Thomas Jefferys. This is a very nice plate, with early hand colored outlines, and shows Arabia, India (Hindoostan), Philippines, Sumatra, etc. The map measures 20.5x25 inches (52x63.5cm)..

London (Charing Cross, Septr. 17, 1798): W. Faden, 1798. Twenty panel linen-backed map, the full image measuring 28x21 inches (71x53cm) with early hand colored outlines in very good condition. The original pape case is present, though scuffed and chipped at edges, but with the original cover and spine labels present and legible. This is a very uncommon item, with only one listing via COPAC (British Library). Faden was publisher for Beaufort's "Memoir of a Map of Ireland", for which Faden had produced a large folding map in 1792. Philadelphia: Anthony Finley, 1824. Small folio, 13.75 inches, very good condition, half leather with some resoration to spine. Front endpaper detached but present. Very little foxing, few tiny stains, to the 58 hand colored maps and two charts (mountains, rivers). Sixty plates in all, as called for (Phillips 4314). The maps were engraved by Young and Delleker, who did many of the maps for many other period atlases, including those of the Carey and Lee atlases, also of Philadelphia. This is the first edition, second issue (Western Hemisphere is first map) of this well-known atlas. The individual states of America are all here, along with other world areas, with each individual engraving measuring approximately 11.5 x 8.5 inches. There is a small owners signature (Mary G. Chow ?) penned at the left lower title page. This is a nice atlas from the early USA, at a time when most of the production centered in Philadelphia. A rather scarce atlas in this early state. Mainz: Joseph Halenza, 1860. Large, striking panorama, folded into the original oblong 8vo. boards measuring 7x11 inches. The German title takes up one board cover, then the verso has the English and French titles. The boards are in relatively good condition, though a tie is missing and the edges are a bit chipped. All lettering is easily legible. The 98x11 inch (250x28cm) b&w (as issued) steel-plate engraved, panorama is quite striking. It has over 40 vignettes along the sides of varieous cities and monumunents bordering the course of the map image itself, which is in very good condition. This is quite a decorative item, intended for the burgeoning tourist trade. . Very Good.
