An uncommonly nice set. Near fine in brick colored boards, volumes 5 and 6 lightly spotted. Dust wrapper on all volumes are price clipped, a few small edge tears. Setting this set apart is the condition of the dust wrapper spines, which are usually tanned and here are only slightly so.
This is the only published collected works of F Scott Fitzgerald, a compilation of novels and shorter pieces, including: The Great Gatsby, The Last Tycoon, Tender is The Night, This Side of Paradise, The Beautiful The Damned, The Rich Boy, Letters and Short Stories, etc.

Oxford (UK): Clarendon Press, 1978. First Edition. Signed and dated by Flew in the year following publication.
Flew was most notable for his work related to the philosophy of religion. For much of his career Flew was known as a strong advocate of atheism. However, in 2004 he changed his position, and stated that he now believed in the existence of an Aristotelian God, shocking colleagues and fellow atheists.

First edition of Pinter's screenplay. With a Foreword by John Fowles and signed by him on the title page. A fine copy in similarly fine dust wrapper. On the front flap of the wrapper is a bookseller label for Serendip Fine Books, Broad St. Lyme Regis. Serendip was founded by Chris Chapman, a close friend of John Fowles, and the shop's frontage featured in the 1981 Oscar-nominated film.

Jones was a British civil servant and educationalist, once described as "one of the six most important men in Europe". First appointed as assistant secretary (later Deputy Secretary) to the Cabinet in December 1916 by David Lloyd George, Jones served as Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet for nearly twenty years and under four different Prime Ministers. He was much involved in the negotiations which led to the celebrated Anglo-Irish treaty of 1921 and the industrial troubles of the 1920s which culminated in the General Strike of May 1926. First Edition. A tight, seemingly unread near fine copy, minimal spotting to spine, one bump to rear, scant rubbing to a couple of corners. An exceptionally nice copy and scarce thus.

First abridged edition. Inscribed "Kind regards and best wishes to Mary F. Macfarlane" and signed by the author, adding St. Fillans (Scotland) and dated in 1931.
A very good copy, clean and sound, with a couple of bumps along the edges, softening to the corners and spine tips, a little color loss to a small patch of spine.
Books signed by Frazer are uncommon.

Large 4to, vellum spine, marbled boards, top-edge gilt, gilt titling. Six chapters on early bookmaking including discussions of 12 early types of book material, writing on vellum, paper and libraries.
Prior owner's bookplate, spine unevenly darkened else a fine and tight copy in a plain, heavy, nearly fine dust wrapper with some slight chipping to top spine and one small wrinkle. Original slipcase split along top front, top spine, and 4" on side spine.
