New York: Robin Wilder and Company/Seearcy Press, 1933 Bright green cloth. Early reprint; inkstamp below original copyright states copyright transferred to Seearcy Press, Columbus, Ohio in 1933. Adventure/romance novel set in "Indian" desert country, apparently the American southwest, during the early part of the 20th century. The Gardner, Massachusetts author had a great fondness for exclamation marks. Moderate rubbing to cover extremities. Irregular lightening/discoloration to patches of front and rear covers. Front endpaper missing. Text pages browning; brittle outer margins have sustained a few small tears. Clean and intact in a moderately-to-heavily edgeworn dust jacket with tears at spine edges, including 3" tear along fold where spine meets front panel. Spine irregularly darkened.

London: Virtue and Co. No date; circa 1870. Original green cloth with blindstamped black and gilt decoration, illustration, title, and spine. Illustrated with two hundred and fifty-nine wood engravings from original sketches by the artist, including tissue-guarded frontispiece "The Great Horse," from an allegorical engraving by Albert Durer. This collection of papers originally appeared in the "Art Journal," for which they were specifically written by antiquary Fairholt (1814-1866). Interesting eclectic content includes facts about finger-rings, brooches and dress fasteners, Albert Durer, and grotesque design. Light rubbing to cover extremities. Foxing to frontispiece, tissue-guard, and title page; light vertical crease to tissue-guard; symmetrical faint dampstain to upper inside margin of both front and rear yellow endpapers, originating at head of spine and gradually disappearing. Otherwise clean and tight.

London: The Alpine Club, 1984 Compilation of numerous mountaineering articles spanning the globe, and including "Mount Everest--The First Winter Ascent" by Andrzej Zawada, "A Traverse of the Kishtwar Himilaya" by Alan Hunt, "Twenty-four Hours in Trevelez" by Lindsay Griffin, "Northern Andean Butterflies--search and research" by Mike Adams. With many black-and-white and some color photographs, some text drawings. Dust jacket very lightly worn.

High-quality paper has resulted in heavy text block. Faint discoloration along edges of boards where there was incomplete coverage by dust jacket. Diagonal upper corner crease on page with last tipped-in illustration. Otherwise clean, tight, and unworn in a moderately edgeworn, scuffed, and faintly soiled dust jacket.

Otherwise clean and tight. Dust jacket colorful and bright, although moderately-to-heavily edgeworn, including 1" closed tear at upper front panel; dust jacket spine slightly sunned and with lower 1" missing. Now protected in mylar.

Otherwise clean and tight.

Fisher (1879-1958), the Vermont writer, is herein remembered by the Editorial Board of the Book-of-the-Month Club and by Robert Frost, with a one-page tribute. Other pages announce an annual memorial award in her honor and portray and discuss her 200-year-old home in Arlington.
