1936 King Features Syndicate Tabloid sized linen Paperback w/stapled bindings. Light aging and faint shelfware on the cover wraps, very faint corner bends, no rips or tears. Color illustrations bright & clean, remarkably preserved color. Stapled binding fine with no signs of tearage.

1919 Houghton Mifflin Co. 1st US edition custom red leather hardcover. Bookbinder block stamp on the title page. Raised bands, gilt title, and previous owner's name in gilt on the spine. Heavy decorative end papers, pocket behind the back board houses 3 foldout maps. Previous owner's book plate on the front paste down, Arcadi Gluckman. Gluckman was a Colonel in the U.S. Army, a veteran of WWI & WWII. In WWI he commanded "E" Co. 39th Inf. 4th Division & was a staff in the China India Burma Theater of WWII where it is likely this was bound. During his military service he acquired a considerable number of decorations & awards including the Silver Star. During peacetime he was a prolific writer on the topic of guns & gun making.Top corner rubbing on the boards & some edgewear, else the leather is in excellent condition. Gold gilt on top edge of text block shows some light rubbing wear but still retains most of its' shine. Pages clean, unmarked & bright. Binding firm & straight.

Thick stock paper dj shows mild toning, 1 enclosed 1 inch rip along the top edge of the front panel & an enclosed nick on the lower edge of the back panel, some faint shelfware but in overall Very Good condition now in Brodart protective sleeve. Page 177 has some underlining in pen, else pages are clean & unmarked. The upper edge of the text block suffered a ding which causes some rippling on the upper corner of the text block from pages 177 till the end of the book at page 313, causing no rips. Red boards clean & square, binding firm & straight. Gold lettering on the spine fine.
