This map measures 26x19 inches, and is folded into red linen boards, and then in a red slipcase with a leather spine, respectively in fine and very good condition. This was an important map in the history of oil exploration, and ths reproduction comes 22 page prospectus, also in fine condition, with the history behind the map. A very nice reproduction of an important map. .

Description:
Con P. Curran Printing Co., St. Louis, c. 1907. Small (12mo) PB commemorative issue of this exposition. The lower third of the paper cover hinge is split, and there is some rubbing and chipping, but the cover lithograph (Native American over a campfire backed by a setting sun) is clear. The inter ior contents (17pp with several b&W lithographic vignettes) are clean and the 2 folding pocket maps (Population Near Hampton Roads, VA; Historical Tidewater Virginia) are intact, although a bit browned with a few small crease tears. the second map h as one marginal tear just crossing the left neatline (no image loss). Most of the tears could be mended with archival tape (not done). Pages 4 and 5 have a proclamation from Theodore Roosevelt. The booklet measures 17.5x14cm..
