Cairo: Bulak, 1828 Book. Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. Ottoman Turkish text, 160 p with 1 errata. Printed in Bulak (Matba'at sahib al Futuhat al Bahira) 1244 by the director of the printing house, (Nicola) Masabki, the first or the second director after RAPHAEL ANTOINE ZAKHOUR (DON RAPHAEL). Masabki was born in Aleppo and sent (in the first mission) to Italy by Muhammad Ali Pasha in c. 1815 to learn the printing methods, and directed the printing house in 1821 until his death in 1831. The first work published in Bulak was after one or tow years of it's establishment, Dizionario Italiano e Arabo, by Raphael Antoine Zakhour in 1822 (See inventory no. 000418). Branton and Horacio (?) sons of Bandini ) from traviling in the Ottoman states and selling their Arabic, Turkish and Persian books freely. In early 20th c. dark green hard covers. almost un-cutted wide margins of papers. 32.5 x 22.5 cm. Copy in vey good condition.
