Deals with the attempt made by Eiloart, his son Tim, and Colin & Rosemary Mudie to cross the Atlantic in a balloon in 1958. They set off from Tenerife, but the balloon crashed into the sea 1200 miles SE of the Canary Islands. The author served in the 6th (Rifle) Battalion, Kings Liverpool Regiment from 1914 onwards, serving in Belgium and France in 1915-17 before being invalided Home. The diaries were never published, but he thought of doing so in the late 1920s, and wrote to many people asking whether or not to do so. These letters are also printed in the book. In later life he was quite well-known as the nature expert ''Nomad'' on BBC radio programme ''Childrens Hour''. 158pp, numerous b&w illustrations.. First Edition. Hard Cover.
