Accompanying this little pamphlet is a Just Folks poem about White Eagle written by Edgar A. Guest, inscribed and SIGNED by him.

The corner clipped dust jacket (price of $2.00 is present at the top of the front flap) has chips and edge wrinkles, some soiling on the spine and two tape repairs on the jacket verso as well as one small strip on the base of the spine recto. The jacket is sleeve protected. First American edition.

Oxford University Press, 1939. Hardcover. Good. Half bound in black leather over blue cloth. 5 raised bands on spine, gilt stamped lettering and decorations. top edges gilt. The volume is edge rubbed, abraded on the corners, joints, and bands, and the spine is mildly faded. There is an ink gift inscription on the front pastedown, and the pages, which are of a very lightweight grade of paper, have some occasional rippling.

The sewn in nylon ribbon marker is detached and laid in.The volume is edge rubbed with abrasions, and the spine gilt is lightly faded. There is an ink inscription, place dated - Dover, July 30, 1884 on the second endpaper, an ownership name plate affixed to the front pastedown, and a penciled name on the front endpaper. The text leaves have some gentle toning.

The volume is rubbed and bumped at the spine ends and corners, and there is a 1/8" x 1" stain on the bottom edges. The interior has lightly toned pages, occasional staining, and the front hinge is starting. The corner and price clipped dust jacket, sleeved in mylar, is missing sizeable chunks on the front panel (extending to the spine) and smaller pieces on the top of the rear panel. The book might better be displayed without the jacket.
