A fascinating mid-century, critical look at the USSR, featuring contributions by Laqueur himself, Alfred Sherman (writing on The Days of the Left Book Club), Alec Nove, and a short story by Abram Tertz (aka Andrei Donatovich Sinyavsky, later one of the defendants in the notorious Sinyavsky–Daniel show-trial of 1965), among much else.
