First editio A suite of measured drawings from French interiors in styles from Louis XII through Louis XVI (1497-1792). The plates include sixteen chromolithographs, five of which are double-paged. Daly produced a "first series" the following year, with measured drawings of exteriors. Moderate binding wear, but internally very good.

Second American edition, from the sixth Cambridge edition. First published in Edinburgh in 1787, Dalzel's book went through numerous editions. The first American edition was published in Lexington, Kentucky in 1823 with the Boston edition being the second edition in 1825. Dalzel was Professor of Greek in the University of Edinburgh who collected these selecti from classical and biblical Greek for students to study. He also contributed the notes and lexicon which he translated from the Latin into English. His selctions contains contributions from Aesop's Fables, Lucian's Dialogues, Xenophon's Cyropaedia, Odes of Anacreaon, as well as from the Old Testament. Minor chipping to extremities of spine, minor wear to tips. Some sporatic foxing in text, else very good.

A practical architectural book explaining proper framing, especially of roofs for churches and other buildings. The work relies heavily on Scamozzi's Vignola. Lacking plates 28 and 48. A most uncommon work. While there are twenty-seven copies listed in OCLC, only nine are in American libraries. We were unable to find another copy for sale in commerce or at auction. Bound i later wrappers. Two of the plates are folding. Danckers was a well-known engraver and mapmaker in the seventeenth century. The engraved title leaf is slightly browned, else a very good copy.
