A detailed map of Portugal and parts of Spain by Dutch cartographer Theodorus Danckerts (1663-1727) including Gallacia in the North and Andalusia in the south. Shows the major cities of Lisbon, Faro, Portalegre, Cadiz, Sevilla etc. A decorative cartouche is surrounded by putti.
Theodorus Danckerts came from a long line of publishers and engravers that were active in the Netherlands in the 17th and 18th centuries.

1769. 19-3/4" x 19"- 50.1 x 48.2 cm. Copper engraved map hand coloured in outline. Fine on heavy paper with wide margins. A good detailed map of Greece with an inset map of Macedonia and the Illyrian coast.

A detailed map of Normandy also showing the islands of Guernsey, Jersey and part of Brittany.

Paris: Published in "Voyage en Italie, 1786. Copperplate engraving with hand colouring. Very Good a nice bright example. 9-1/2" x 14-1/4"-24.13 x 36.1 cm.. A detailed city plan of the city of Florence with 79 key points including churches, public buildings, piazzas, roads and gardens. Lalande travelled extensively within Italy during 1765-66 and his travels were recorded into 8 volumes.

A very detailed map of Ukraine, Russia, Crimea and countries surrounding the Black Sea during the Russian-Turkish war 1736-39. Historical notes indicating where archaeological remains relating to Alexander the Great are indicated as well as topographical and cultural observations.

c. 1700. 18-1/4" x 24-1/2"- 46.3 x 62.2 cm. Copper engraved map hand coloured in outline. Fine on heavy paper with wide margins. A good detailed map of northern Greece extending into Thrace and Asia Minor.

Cambridge: : William Metcalfe, , 1862. Second edition. 8vo,. Illustrated with hand-coloured map and 8 steel engravings, 1/2 morocco and marbled boards, rubbed along joints, ffep torn, plates a little toned, but on the whole quite good. A scarce book on the colleges, churches and town of Cambridge.

Interesting steel plate engraving of Asia Minor. Shows the area of Turkey, Armenia, Messopotamia, Syria, and the Arabian Desert.

Illustrated throughout. 4to, wraps, slightly soiled at foot of front wrap, name to title page else very good. Still the definitive reference on early Canadian furniture.

Illustrated frontis. 301 pp. 4to, original red cloth with gilt lettering, spine sunned, corners bumped, else very good. A thorough listing of the works of George Cruikshank divided into Books, Pamphlets, Tracts, Songs and separate prints including etchings, glyphographs, lithographs, woodcuts etc.  Limited to 1000 numbered copies.

Corners and spine ends rubbed, inner hinge cracked, inscription to ffep, else very good. Second edition. According to the author, the "Iron Mask was an Italian named Hercules Anthony Mathhioli who served as a spy in the French court.
