Three original b/w film still photographs of women as belly dancers, or "harem girls," from an unknown film, circa 1950s, each with production number 1322-124AD printed on the image. Long dresses, high heels, bejeweled veils, and sheer fabric. Peplum films, or historical international action-adventure films, often required the use of belly dancers and women simply lounging scantily clad on large pillows, as in Middle Eastern or Egyptian and swashbuckling films, notably "The Indian Tomb" (1959, Debra Paget and the "Snake Dance"). These models go uncredited on the photograph, so exact film and identity is shrouded in mystery, not unlike the dance itself. 8 x 10 inches, single weight, white borders. Near Fine overall, with slight curl, faint toning and tiny creases.
