George D. Dadd, veterinary surgeon, was the Lecturer on Veterinary Science at the Boston Veterinary School. ". there are but few persons in this country conversant with the theory and practice of veterinary medicine, in its application to cattle; and my object in writing this work is, to supply, to the best of my ability, a deficiency which all husbandmen have had occasion to lament." The author rails against the contemporary, unscientific treatments of bloodletting and use of poisons. The author published several veterinary books.

Soft cover. 8vo. 21.6cm, 32p., printed wraps, some wear to cover edges, very good to fine copy, rare (N14) Angus Dallas (c.1802-1886), was a Toronto merchant who wrote two pamphlets on education. He attacks the school system arguing "it was imported from Massachusetts and was designed for a Republican and Unitarian community.". This was denied by the Department of Education.
