Generally a lovely copy of a book uncommon in jacket, much less so signed. Debut novel; author had a connection with Hemingway while they were both in Paris.

Slight rub-bing to spine panel, slight wear to spine ends and tips, two small soil marks to rear cover, owner's label to front endpaper, moderate foxing. "Bound by Leighton Son and Hodge" label at rear endpapers. The cover has a surprisingly modernist feel with its simple image, in an era when more elaborate designs were to be expected.
