A collection of poems by a Manxman who took it upon himself to preserve "all that is worthy of preservation from the Manx past," while at the same time trying "to make a contribution to the Manx future." 95 pages (including glossary). Moderate edgewear to cover overhang, remains of previous owner's sticker to title page, spine scraped, author's name partially scraped on same, covers beginning to pull a wee bit from text block, a bit of staple rust, tanning. Internally tight and clean. .

White Circle 257, Pocket 503, Avon 94, Pocket 1073 Book. Various conditions. Paperbacks. 1sts thus.. 16mo - over 5¾ - 6¾" tall. A collection of four novels, three of which are pretty much standing the test of time in American literature, and the other of which looks like a delightful read to cleanse the literary palate (that would be this movie tie-in edition of 'Peabody's Mermaid,' a story that sees a man catch a mermaid, which results in such cutting, pertinent questions as "How does his wife take it?" and "How does a captive mermaid behave?"). A couple of titles have a few condition issues, but neither pages nor words are falling out of any of them, so they all have good reads left in them -- but it wouldn't hurt to handle them with care, anyway, since being vintage paperbacks, these have already gone through a couple of wars, and would probably appreciate gentle handling during another read. Sorry, but no substitutions of titles..

The first book in the series based on the popular television show, Combat!, which starred Rick Jason (who committed suicide in 2000) as Lt. Gil Hanley, and Vic Morrow (decapitated by a helicopter blade in 1982 while filming a segment of Twilight Zone: The Movie) as Sgt. Chip Saunders (also killed with Morrow were two child actors, My-ca Dinh Le, who was seven, and Renee Shin-Yi Chen, who was six). This one sees "seven men on a suicidal patrol behind the enemy's front lines." 160 pages.
