It also includes a broad description of Macau, where the author lived for 16 months, the Philippines and the expedition against the Indonesian pirates of Solor. He inspected the settlements of the London Missionary Society and returned to England with his reports of the colony and its hinterland in 1814. Campbell provides a great deal of information in the appendix including prayers in native languages.
