Joe BARBERATom & Jerry
S.l.n.d. 1 charcoal drawing (650 x 500 mm), signed and dedicated. Under glass and framed in fine paper.
Magnificent original graphite drawing of the famous duo, with dedication to Pierre Tchernia, "Monsieur Cinéma".
Tom the cat and Jerry the mouse were born in the late 1930s under the pencil of Joseph Barbera and William Hanna. The two creators joined forces in 1957 to found the Hanna-Barbera animation company, the forerunner of the big studios: in addition to Tom and Jerry, they were responsible for many famous creations: Scooby Doo, Les Fous du volant, Satanas et Diabolo, Capitaine Caverne and La Famille Pierrafeu.
A fine provenance from a lover of cinema and cartoon studios: Pierre Tchernia.
"It's impossible not to love Pierre Tchernia, even if you force your naughty nature, because he's a man - what am I saying, he's a man, he's a child - a child whose hobby consists above all in sharing his pleasures, his tastes, his friendships with us" (Henri Jeanson, L'Aurore, December… Read More

First edition, dedicated to Henri III. The book is considered to be one of the great polemical texts of the 16th century, of great interest for French history.
The author, a Huguenot, tried to show King Henry III that he could use three "magic pearls" to remedy the wreckage of his kingdom: they represented the Word of God, the true Nobility and the Third Estate, hidden in a jewel box that was none other than the kingdom of France. In this way, he revealed the true mores of his time, denouncing the possessions of the clergy and the vices of the nobility, discussing polygamy and prostitution, and revealing a number of secrets relating to the king and the… Read More

Description:
Le Matin des magiciens is a book written by Louis Pauwels and Jacques Bergier in 1960 or in October 1959. It was first published in English in 1963 with the title "The Morning of the Magicians" and was a general overview of the occult and the works of Charles Fort. Le Matin des magiciens was highly influential in the way it presented occult subjects to a populist audience and spawned many books imitating its style.
The Morning of the Magicians became an international best seller, with over 800,000 copies sold worldwide. The book was a collaboration of ideas spanning a wide variety of subjects from Nazi occultism to supernatural phenomena and the place of mankind in the universe relative to traditional philosophical positions. It also temporarily renewed interest in the works of Arthur Machen.

Description:
Paris, Julliard, (January 8) 1963. 1 vol. (135 x 195 mm) of 265 p. and [3] f. Publisher's cold-stamped green cloth. Numbered true first edition (no. 228 R). In the novel, the hero is a world away from the American adaptation, where the majestic Charlton Heston plays Captain George Taylor. And the Planet of the Apes, if it exists at all, is not Planet Earth. But Pierre Boulle's ending is just as effective and surprising!
Pierre Boulle imagines that natural evolution will strip man of his pre-eminence over other living species, in favor of the apes. The idea came to him during a visit to the zoo, while observing the gorillas. He says: "I was impressed by their almost human expressions. This led me to imagine what a human/ape relationship would be like. Some people think I had King Kong in mind when I wrote my book, but I didn't." In the novel, the hero goes by the unassuming - not to say ridiculous - name of Ulysses Merou - a far cry from the American adaptation, where the majestic Charlton Heston plays… Read More

Description:
Barcelona, en la impressa de Mathevat, 1684 et 1686. 2 volumes in 1 vol. (145 x 205 mm) of [4], 87, [12] and 198 pp; modern vellum, smooth spine, title in black ink (modern binding).
A rare edition printed in Barcelona and the first complete edition, the first volume appearing in the same year as the edition published in Madrid by Villadiego.
This is a detailed account of the first years of the Second Austro-Turkish War (1683-1699), intended to exalt the House of Habsburg. Its author, Fabio Bremundan, of Flemish or Burgundian origin, went down in history as the founder of the Gazeta de Madrid, which championed the cause of Prince John Joseph of Austria (legitimized child of Philip IV of Spain) - of whom. Bremunda was the prince's personal secretary, who dreamed of one day acceding to the Spanish throne, in competition with the only legitimate heir to the throne, the future Charles II.
Palau, 86152 (for the Madrid edition).
A good copy, with wide margins.
