Description:
Macmillan Co. 1928. 434 pages. The covers are dark green with gold lettering on front and spine. There is very minor scuffing on covers. Top edge of spine is moderately rubbed. The interior is very clean. The only writing appears on the front free endpaper and is a short inscription to the owner (dated Christmas, 1929). Otherwise the interior is bright, some very small spots on a couple of pages. It contains many half-page and full-page black and white photographs of trees. The binding is intact, but loose in some spots.

The beige covers are in generally good condition, they are toned with some creasing and smudge marks on both the front and back. There are two lines of writing on the back cover. The binding is solid; but the head of the spine does have a 1" tear. Most of the interior pages are in good condition, but a some have pencil marks or moderate staining. The book includes 16 black/white full-page illustrations of ferns drawn by A. S. Margolin.

The covers are in very good minus condition, their original green color is still quite vivid with only a couple of small scuff marks on them. The most significant issue is bumping at the corners, the most noticeable is the bottom front corner which is creased. There is also some minor loss at the bottom fore-edges of both the front and back cover (less than 1" long). The title and author(s) are stamped in dark green on the front cover and spine. There is some rubbing and creasing on the top and bottom of the spine, along with a couple of other marks, but overall, the spine is still attractive. The binding is solid. The interior of this book is in very good plus condition. There no writing, markings or foxing detected. The pages are clean and bright.
