London: T. Becket and P.A. Dehondt, 1764. First Edition. Contemporary full calf that is bumped and chipped, grubby and a bit dry. Dampstaining and top of volume 2 title page clipped. Overall a good plus set.. First Edition. Association copy with the ownership inscription of John Reeve, a notable actor during the middle of the 19th century, dated "Haymarket 1830", which were among his last performances at the Haymark Theatre. 2 vol. 12mo. Collated complete, unpaginated, with errata and advertisement at the end of volume 1. ESTC T77488.

Stourbridge: Heming and Tallis, 1814. The rare sole edition of the separately printed pamphlet, containing excerpts of Banck's A Short Critical Review of the Political Life of Oliver Cromwell. . ., originally published in 1739 (though many of the passages in the instant work are lifted verbatim not from the 1739 first edition but the 1742 second edition). This edition largely removes Banck's polemic and commentary, leaving only 21 pages from a work originally running over 300 pages. 12mo. [2], [7]-28pp., frontis. Apparently unrecorded with no copies located on OCLC or Library Hub as of November 2021. Good in modern paper boards, stamped number to endpaper, pages rather age-toned, edges a bit ragged, one leaf loose but present.

Signed by both Barrie and the illustrator at the limitation statement. No. 11 of 50 special copies from a total edition of 560. Illustrated with 18 etching by William Hole. xiv, 217 pp. Large 8vo.

New York: McClure Phillips, 1905. First Edition. Soiling to the spine and some of the front board rubbed away, prior ownership stamp on the ffep, cocked, bumping to corners and small tear to ffep.. First edition. Signed and inscribed by author Rex Beach on the flyleaf in the year of publication. A scarce book which preceded his first novel, particularly as inscribed.

London: William Heinemann, 1923. First Edition. Very good but with front hinge broken. The scarce original dust jacket is present but spine darkened and large open tear to rear panel.. Signed by Max Beerbohm. First edition being a limited edition of 380 numbered copies signed by Beerbohm, of which only 350 were for sale, this copy being number 315. With an additional plate signed by Beerbohm in the back pocket. Large 4to. Cream gilt printed cloth.

Good in contemporary quarter leather over marbled boards, heavy wear to boards especially at edges, some dog-eared pages, frontispiece torn with sewn repair, ink inscription to ffep, and substantial damp staining.. Revised Edition. Number 41 of the Sunday School and Youth's Library. An apparently uplifting, but rather disturbing, work about two pious siblings who died young and within a year of each other. One of many warnings in the book, "when the young die strangers to religion, the horrible thought often wrings the heart of surviving parents, that they have gone from the agonies of disease to the torments of hell." 24mo. [5], 94pp. [1]. Scarce with no copies of this edition located on Worldcat as of June 2021.

About very good in original black publisher's cloth with blind stamping, wear to corners and minor loss at spine, some foxing, and cocking.. Scarce printing with no copies located on Worldcat at cataloging, though it appears to be largely identical to the 1858 first edition, with different publisher's cloth. 12mo. [5], 419pp.

Very good in contemporary tree sheep, rubbed, rebacked preserving old spine, one corner repaired, and occasional scattered light soiling.. Second edition, but the first illustrated edition with wood-engraved illustrations and vignettes by and after John Bewick. The publisher's advertisement apologizes for the delay in publication, as Bewick was ill, and subsequently died prior to publication, this being advertised as his final work. 12mo. x, 221pp., [1]. Given that this is a ten volume set, additional shipping will be quoted at cost.. Limited edition, being number 492/526 of the "Centenary Edition." An autograph letter signed by Browning is tipped in volume one. As other examine copies of the Centenary Edition include tipped in letters, it is certainly possible this was done by a publisher or early bookseller. 10 volumes. 8vo.
