Illustrated with four block prints. Bound in hand-sewn, printed, laid-paper wraps. Top edge of leaves with faint dampstain. Signed on the title page by printer Homer Martin. Sports covered include cricket, archery, blowing bubbles, and walking on stilts. Rear wrapper with an advertisement for Babcock's "Toy and Juvenile Books." Homer Martin's tenure as printer at the Farmers' Museum began in 1964; if special letters or designs were needed, he engraved them on the end grain of cured apple tree wood, as here, running the print shop true to 19th century practices.

Except for slight, closed tear to fore-edge of title page, Fine in Fine dust jacket, which is unprinted, plain blue cloth matching the binding. One of 550 copies. Per the colophon, this is the first volume of the third series of Rare Americana reprinted by the Grabhorns. An especially attractive copy kept fresh by its dust jacket. MAGEE catalog #137 (declared a "a delightful book," but mis-ascribes the history of SFO stage to Jane Grabhorn). Clear, removable archival dust jacket protector has a handwritten label on spine.
