Interior generally VG+ but for insect damage to the first 19 pages at the lower margin of the Spanish text (also in English and Portuguese, which are not affected). Very little interference with legibility, and all of maps/charts are intact. This was an unusual atlas, preparted with a specific eye to world trade expansion post World War I. This atlas deals with Mexico, Central and SOuth America. There are 35 printed color maps, the initial one being an index map with all existing trade routes. There are commercial graphic charts of trade details for each country, with an elaborate introduction, text and index. There is an article by William C. Wells (Chief Statistician of the Pan American Union) on "Trading with Latin America". Bello Horizonte, Imprensa Official, 1926. Two large (32 cm) quarto volumes, half leather, very good condition with sound bindings. Vol. I (ABA-MACH) published 1926; vol. II (MAN-VIR) in 1927. Several owners signatures and stamps on title page, front flyleaf, with 1943 signed date on half title vol. I. The binding is customized with the owners last name (Meyers) in gilt at the bottom of the spines, with spine titles listed as "Atlas Municipal de Minas Geraes.". The volumes are 356 pp. each, both with "indices" and "errata." Many colored thematic maps of various regions of Brazil, along with accompanying demographic, agricultural and other forms of data. The texts are in Portuguese. This is quite an unusual set of thematic atlases.. First Edition.

Lavish production with many color maps, divided into 4 sections: War Crimes, Brief Statistics of the Invasion, Maps of Mass Destruction, Maps of Different Areas of Kuwait Showing the Locality Where War Crimes Were Committed. Text in English, Arabic and French. Map endpapers. This copy has a HAND SIGNED LETTER FROM DR. AL-HAMMADI, dated 15/8/1998 to the Voice of Reason (newsletter of the Americans for Religious Liberty) dedicating this particular copy to the library of said publication. Scarce, B&W as issued, small map of the Michigan & SOuthern, which skirted the southern edges of Lakes Michigan and Erie, from Chicago to Buffalo. Shows every whistlestoop, near the peak of the railroad expansions, and was published as part of the "Travelers' Official Railway Guide...". The map image measures 6.25x9 inches..

Cleveland: Arthur H. Clark Company, 1912. Large 8vo, minor rubbing covers, internally in excellent condition. There is a private owner's bookplate pasted inside the front cover. Alvord was at the Univ. of Illinois when he wrote this, with the intent of giving credit to early Virginians in these explorations. Sections include the dicovery of the Ohio waters, discovery of New Brittaine, discoveries of John Lederer, the role of Governor Berkeley as a promoter of these explorations, the Batts & Fallam expedition, the journeys of Needham and Arthur and more (including a memorandum by John Locke pertaining to the latter journeys). Illustrated by maps of explorations, facsimile of John Ledere's map and others (not heavily illustrated). This is a nice early historical account of the subject.. Cloth.
