A number of small tears and fold separations have been archivally repaired on verso. In good condition. The map was issued with the booklet Urbis Hierosolyma Depicta which provided further information about sites keyed to the numbers on the map; some later editions of the map retained the 1584 date but were issued in the atlas Theatrum Terrae Sanctae (published posthumously, 1590 and later). The folded sections of this map are 16 cm x 9 cm, the size of the Depicta. Later editions have larger sections and fewer folds since the Theatrum was a larger book. There are a great many maps of Jerusalem, but this is one of the most influential.
