[San Diego: Corinth, 1966].. First edition of this Paperback Original. Issued as part of the notable '60s James Bond sleaze parody series. Features terrific Robert Bonfils cover art. In this adventure agent 0008 has to deal with "Rapture" a woman who wants to pollute the country's water supply with LSD: "From Rapture with Love! was what Psychedelia wanted, and she meant to have it the easy way with her Trip Bomb---two tons of LSD in the nation's H2O!" Pages uniformly slightly toned as usual, faintest touch of rubbing to back cover, else fine.

NY: Cafe Bizarre, ca. 1960.. Single tall sheet folded to make four pages. This version features a cover illustration of a sinister, demented person acting as the doorman who personifies the "bizarre" concept of this cafe. A small illustrated map of Greenwich Village bohemian hot spots is printed on the back cover. The menu includes such items as "Pink Lady Bizarre," "Voo-Doo," and "Schizophrenic Sundays." One of the most popular and sensational clubs to capitalize on the beatnik phenomenon, the Cafe Bizarre presented poetry readings, folk music, and "assorted madness" for tourists and genuine bohemians alike. Musitron Records recorded an album there that captured the bongo-beating, finger-snapping beatnik spirit of this venue. In the '60s Andy Warhol discovered the Velvet Underground there billed as "The Velvets." Horizontal crease where once folded, else very good or better. Scarce ephemera from the heyday of the beatnik scene in Greenwich Village.

n.p.:n.p., [1967].. The photo shows the outside of the Cafe Bizarre at night with its "spooky" decorations around the door and the huge "Rick Allmen's Cafe Bizzare" banner hanging out front as people walk by on an evening in the Village. The Cafe Bizarre was one of the most conspicuous and sensational clubs to capitalize on the beatnik phenomenon, and the venue for many counterculture poets and musicians of the period. Musitron Records even recorded an album of Beat festivities at Cafe Bizarre in the late '50s. (In the post-beatnik-era Warhol discovered The Velvet Underground there.) A must-have for Cafe Bizarre collectors. As new (10" x 7").
