R.B.Anderson has signed the title page and the front endpaper; Rasmus B. Anderson was the first professor of Scandinavian languages at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. The inside of the front cover has a bookplate stating ' from the private library of Rasmus B.Anderson, presented to the State Historical Society of Winsconsin, 1930'. Below that is the bookplate of noted Scandinavian collector Herman Gimmestad. Clean and bright book.

H.P.Nordby went on to become pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Clark County Wisconsin. He attended Luther College.

I am guessing this would have been a library stamp and a library 'due date' stamp.
