Peterson Field Guide To Freshwater Fishes, Second Edition

by Lawrence M ; Burr, Brooks M Page

There are nearly 1,000 species of freshwater fishes in North America alone, and identifying them can sometimes be a daunting task. In fact, in just the twenty years since publication of the first edition of the Peterson Field Guide to Freshwater Fishes, the number of species has risen by almost 150, including 19 marine invaders and 16 newly established nonnative species. This second edition incorporates all of these new species, plus all-new maps and a collection of new and revised plates. Some of the... Read more about this item

1890. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition. 40mm x 85mm. No date but the nature of the postcard format suggests Victorian around 1890. 50 sea-weed specimens numbered 5 to 54, each individually carefully pressed and mounted, untitled, but numbered onto uniform display cards (40mm x 85mm). The specimens are generally in a good state of preservation with just a few with light loss. The paper mounts have a single wave, bend to them and lightly toned with very few marks.
