Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Pride and Prejudice is a novel by Jane Austen. First published on 28 January 1813, it was her second published novel. Its manuscript was initially written between 1796 and 1797 in Steventon, Hampshire, where Austen lived in the rectory. Originally called First Impressions, it was never published under that title, and in following revisions it was retitled Pride and Prejudice.

Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen

Sense and Sensibility is a novel by the English novelist Jane Austen. Published in 1811, it was Austen's first published novel, which she wrote under the pseudonym "A Lady". The story revolves around Elinor and Marianne, two daughters of Mr. Dashwood by his second wife. They have a younger sister, Margaret, and an older half-brother named John. When their father dies, the family estate passes to John, and the Dashwood women are left in reduced circumstances.

    Emma by Jane Austen

Emma, by Jane Austen, is a comic novel about the perils of misconstrued romance. The novel was first published in December 1815. As in her other novels, Austen explores the concerns and difficulties of genteel women living in Georgian-Regency England; she also creates a lively 'comedy of manners' among her characters. Before she began the novel, Austen wrote, "I am going to take a heroine whom no-one but myself will much like.

    Mansfield Park by Jane Austen

Mansfield Park is a novel by Jane Austen, written at Chawton Cottage between 1812 and 1814. It was published in July 1814 by Thomas Egerton, who published Jane Austen's two earlier novels, Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice. When the novel reached a second edition, its publication was taken over by John Murray, who also published its successor, Emma.

The Novels Of Jane Austen by Jane Austen

"As the novel opens, Mr Bingley, a wealthy young gentleman, rents a country estate near the Bennets called Netherfield. He arrives in town accompanied by his fashionable sisters and his good friend, Mr Darcy. While Bingley is well-received in the community, Darcy begins his acquaintance with smug condescension and proud distaste for all the 'country' people..." - [*Wikipedia*][1] [1]: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pride_and_Prejudice

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

London : George Allen , 1894 A fair to good copy of the 1st publication of the 'Peacock Edition' of Pride and Prejudice with illustrations by Hugh Thomson. In the original green decorative cloth binding with spectacular gilt peacock design to front board and gilt designs to spine. Aeg. With numerous black and white illustrations by Thomson. The binding is bright and clean. The front board has wear to the corners with slight cloth loss and a small indentation at the side edge also with slight cloth loss. The spine is cocked to the front and is slightly dulled with some pulling and slight fraying at the bottom. The back board has some corner wear and slightly faded areas. The original black endpapers are present with early splitting at the front joint and more obvious splitting at the rear joint where there has been repair. The book is sound but shaken - with webbing visible at p 32/3 and 352. Contents are complete and in good clean condition. There is a light stain to the side edge of the fep which persists to the dedication page, and occasional spotting primarily to margins. There is some marking at pp 18/19. There is what looks like an old repair to the corners of pp 175/6 and 177/8 where a section was probably torn and reattached - there is slight loss of text underneath the adhesive that has been used. There are a couple of very small edge tears at the bottom margin.
