Stated 1st printing, (first American). Originally written by Thackeray in 1833 for the small son of friends he was visiting. It was rediscovered and published for the first time. For each letter of the alphabet there is a short, humorous rhyme, accompanied by a full page pen and ink illustration by Thackeray. A remarkable copy.
